How to Use the Calculator

Overview: This calculator is used to determine the total fees, shipping costs, profit margin, and total profit for a hypothetical order. The fee structure is an approximation of TCGPlayer fees, although it is not a 100% accurate replication. All of the cost fields have been filled with placeholders, but they can be changed to fit your exact scenario. This calculator is intended to give you a very close estimation of what to expect. It is not meant to be 100% accurate.

Number of Cards: Enter the number of cards you will be selling in this order.

Value per Card: Enter the value per card. It is recommended that you use your price floor as the value here to get the minimum profit and profit margin, but an average value is acceptable as well.

Cost per Card: Enter the price paid per card. For example, if you bought 1,000 cards for $20.00, the “Cost per Card” would be $0.02.

Selling Fees: This section is meant to approximate selling fees on different platforms. The placeholder is meant to replicate selling fees on TCGPlayer. The placeholder in the “%” field represents a combination of the % selling fee and the % credit card processing fee assessed by TCGPlayer. The placeholder in the “$” field represents the flat rate $0.30 credit card processing fee that is charged in addition to the % credit card processing fee.

Penny Sleeve(s): Enter the number of penny sleeves you would use to protect this order. Be sure to update the price if your costs differ.

Shipping Shield(s): Enter the number of shipping shields you would use to protect this order. Be sure to update the price if your costs differ.

Team Bag(s): Enter the number of team bags you would use to protect this order. Be sure to update the price if your costs differ.

Envelope(s): Enter the number of envelopes to ship this order. Be sure to update the price if your costs differ.

Total Postage: Enter the total cost of postage for the order. The placeholder represents the current cost of a 1oz Forever Stamp. Be sure to update the price if your costs differ.

Shipping Credit: Enter price you charge for shipping. The placeholder represents the standard shipping rate on TCGPlayer. Be sure to update the shipping credit if you charge a different amount for shipping.
